Designer Spotlight: Roz Buehrlen

Where do you find inspiration?

Inspiration comes from anywhere, from a suggestion in a conversation to my love of sailing and sculpture, and of course my slight obsession with tattoos.

What is your “go to” piece of jewellery at the moment?

My three thumb rings, I feel lost when I’m not wearing them.

Do you have a morning or evening ritual?

I have to go for a cycle before anyone is up along the North Downs Way. It’s a moment of solitary peace.

What is your first jewellery memory?
On a flight to India when I was a child I sat next to a young girl, had brilliant fun and she gave me her very ornate silver ring. I loved it for decades.

Do you have a favourite quote or saying?

“I told you I was ill” by Spike Milligan is brilliant, but I think it has to be the beautiful poetry of Leonard Cohen “There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”

What is your idea of “a perfect Sunday”?

Waking up early on a gorgeous boat and setting off into the sunrise.

Which country is next on your bucket list?

New Zealand but for nostalgia I would love to do a quick trip back to Kuwait.

What is your favourite food?

Is wine a food stuff? Anything spicy... oh and cheese - especially melted Reblochon.
