The Mamahood Spring Pop Up closes it's East Dulwich doors...

The Mamahood is a platform that supports the very best mother makers and mum-run businesses, and Arlette Gold are proud to have been a part of the group’s six-month bricks-and-mortar residency in East Dulwich. Sadly, this is coming to an end, with the doors of the shop on Lordship Lane closing today, Saturday 1st June.

The community brings together mothers starting side-projects, which frequently turn into thriving businesses that achieve that elusive goal: a useful income and a schedule that fits around family life. Founder Diana Bardega aims to shine a light on these brilliant small companies and encourage more people to seek them out. It’s collaborative, supportive and pretty wonderful.

The East Dulwich pop-up shop has been a joy, celebrating our small businesses, and we have loved every minute of our involvement. Popping in on any given day, you may have stumbled across a gorgeous range of clothing, some ethical toys, small-run books, beautiful homewares or more.

The winter season ran November to February 2019, then came a three-month spring session with a fresh new look. Through January and February there were even regular small-business workshops.

Diana has worked incredibly hard. The Mamahood regularly rotate stock,  and the team – Karolina, Liz, Natalie and Sarah – have helped us both to promote our stock and share our story, and we owe a huge thank you to them! It feels as if the group is celebrating a spirit amongst women.

The shop enjoyed visits from many influencers – the brilliant Liv Purvis, HungerMama, DressLikeAMum, Clemmie Telford and many more, and has been covered in the press, including in The Resident Magazine’s zeitgeist-capturing January To-Do list. You may have heard Diana interviewed on BBC London Radio in January, talking about the pop up specifically and all things Mamahood. Diana herself was included in the 2019 @fentrepreneuruk Top 100 list;  a campaign that highlights inspiring female business leaders across the UK and showcases role models that help and inspire all small businesses.

Don’t miss out on the final glorious weeks – the East Dulwich store closes today and their Clapham store is open until the end of June.
