Fawn and Rose
Jess Jones is the creative energy behind Fawn and Rose. Jess studied Photographic Arts at the University of Brighton and went on to work as a photographer for an independent shoe brand. Keen to find a creative outlet she started making jewellery at home in the evenings.
She taught herself, enjoyed the process, and in 2012 she sold her first piece. “It's quite a buzz to design something from scratch and have people like it enough to buy it”, Jess says. She researched techniques, learned skills, and honed her craft along the way, meaning the growth of her business was slow and organic.
In 2015 she took some time to travel through North, Central and South America, which was a journey that "really put things into focus for me, I couldn't wait to get back to designing jewellery" she says.
Jess now designs and creates her items in her studio at the end of her garden in Norfolk, with a snoring dog at her feet. She crafts all pieces by hand, working predominantly with silver and brass and experimenting regularly with new materials such as Jesmonite stone.
Her pieces range from super-simple asymmetric arc earrings and hammered hoops which are easy-to-wear yet idiosyncratic, to inventive mint, navy and pink washer-shaped earrings edged in brass. Her subtle, chic Fold Over necklace is cerebral, elegant and an instant classic.
